Here is our Final Piece, which is titled "Captus" which in Latin means taken, this signifies the fact that not only the protagonist has been taken but the antagonists are attempting to steal confidential files named "captus". Throughout the opening you see various flashbacks of the protagonist, Alex being captured by various masked men and violently interrogated. The opening follows Alex being tortured and eventually rising up against his captors and exacting revenge therefore to suggest the rest of the film will follow the protagonist fighting off the antagonists trying to reclaim what is his. Hence the tag line "How far would you go to protect whats yours?".

Planning: Final Piece
We intended to try and carry on from our continuity piece and keep a similar story line and similar shots just slight improvements as we thought our continuity piece was good and didn't need much improvement however we then changed our ideas and brainstormed new ideas, locations, shots and use multiple cameras to capture different angles. Also use different lens' to improve the quality of film. We brainstormed our ideas together and came up with a similar thriller outline to before - just more developed. We came up with a slightly different story line with different locations and better equipment to use. We then sorry boarder our ideas for the film as well as making a shooting script for our film so we knew what shots wed do and how we would film the opening, as well as writing a script for our characters.
Continuity Piece Evaluation
Our continuity piece aimed to demonstrate our understanding of camera angles, editing, lighting and the operation of the camera itself and other accessories such as tripods and dollies We originally intended for our continuity piece to link in with our main thriller opening however we really thought that we should follow a different route yet as you can see through our final piece there are some similarities as we thought that we used some great shots and narrative ideas in our continuity piece as we put a lot of effort into the the pre lim, spending a lot of time shooting and re shooting the film to get the best footage possible. However we still found many errors when filming therefore we developed and managed to greatly improve our ideas and angles used in our main piece. We recorded external audio to put over the film to provide a backdrop for the story to highlight relationships between the characters. We also ingeniously used a skateboard to provide the camera with a tracking dolly to make the shot look smooth and professional. However we realised that there was still a lot we could improve on such as script/speech, music, stability of the shots and the use of various camera lens to provide variety and a different perspective on the situation.
Behind the Scenes: Continuity Piece
We managed to take some photos of the set and location of our continuity piece and the filming in action.
Planning: Continuity Piece
We all originally researched thriller openings in order to gain some ideas and inspirations, we looked at many different scenes including the scene in Batman: The Dark Knight in which Harvey Dent is kidnapped. We analysed the scenes, looked at the various shots they used and how they were edited in order to grasp an idea about how we should go about filming and editing our intro. We then got together and brainstormed ideas and each proposed separate ideas for a film eventually coming up with a prolonged kidnapping scenario. After this we storyboarded our ideas and made notes of the various angles we'd use and the settings in which we'd film some of the sequences. Once the storyboards were done we wrote scripts and shooting scripts for the scene as we needed a certain amount of dialogue in our continuity piece. After that we went through our plans and storyboards and made alterations in order to improve our piece. Once all the planning was finished we finally got down to filming the scene using mostly the Canon 550d. However as we were filming we constantly came across new ideas for our film therefore ignoring the intended ideas we originally planned in our shooting script and storyboard meaning we had to make certain alterations to these plans after we finished filming. We also filmed more than we needed as we thought a variety of different shots and sequences would be helpful as we would be able to compare and eventually conclude in which would be the better footage to use.
